Workshop for Societies of Association
Executives: Want More Members--Increase the ROI in Your Membership
Experience
Associations and societies across North
America are struggling with membership retention. One of the key reasons
for this is the inability to accurately demonstrate the yearly
sustainable real dollar value of membership; simply put, Membership ROI.
Today, association and society members must justify their membership
investment of both time and money; either to themselves or to their
companies. Gone are the days that industry stakeholders join their
association or society just because they should.
Ed Rigsbee's workshop titled, Want
More Members--Increase the ROI in Your Membership Experience is
designed to help today's association and society executives to strip
away erroneous beliefs about what today's association and society
members, and their employers, want from their industry organization.
From Ed's workshop, professional
association and society staff will learn:
- How to conduct Ed Rigsbee's Member
Value Process to determine the current and actual, yearly
sustainable real dollar value from membership and participation.
This process is the cornerstone for all member recruitment and
retention campaigns.
- How to indentify and challenge
association activities that consume resources and deliver little ROI
to members. Then decide to deliver member ROI verses vague value
propositions.
- How to put more ROI, real and
perceived, in your current activities and member benefits.
- How to develop an actual member ROI
and member benefit driven recruitment brochure.
- How to plan, develop, and implement a
grassroots member recruitment campaign.
- Staff driven member recruitment verses
member driven recruitment. (And mentor assignment)
- How to sell the above ideas to
your volunteer board of directors and turn them into member
recruitment evangelists.
- How to shift your organization into a
high value, high ROI delivery conduit yielding high-level member satisfaction
and retention.
- (Full-day format) Staff will
walk away with a written plan and sales strategy for which to
present to the board of directors for approval.
This workshop, as outlined above, is best suited for
half-day format. For a more intensive, roll up the sleeves and
walk out with a plan workshop, a full-day is necessary. During
the full-day version, staff will walk away with a written plan and sales
strategy for which to present to the board of directors for approval.

Dear
SAE Executive:
The
above workshop is ideally suited for your annual meeting, and an abbreviated
version is available as a keynote presentation. However, if you are
interested in offering your members the high-value, full-day, version
where they walk away with a written plan--please contact me to discuss
my workshop revenue-sharing option. The full-day workshop can be offered
as a pre-con or stand alone event. With my revenue-sharing option, your
SAE will generate needed operating revenues.
Here is how it
would work. The SAE would do the promoting and provide the workshop
venue and a hotel room for me for two nights. I'll cover my travel
expense. We will split the gross ticket revenue. The admission price is
$199 for the first attendee from any organization and $99 for additional
attendees from the same organization. The SAE guarantees 10 full-price
attendees. If this is an idea that interests you, please call me at
805-498-5720 to discuss the idea further.

Rigsbee, CSP
